Back in 2013 SWAT knitted 815 hats for the Age UK/Innocent Smoothie Big Knit Campaign and with a target of 40,000 hats this year (double on previous years!) Age UK Devon contacted us to ask if we could help again. If you don’t know what the campaign is for, for every behatted Innocent smoothie sold, Age UK receives 25p to help keep older people warm and well.
For the past few months in between skating, NSOing and committee work, the SWAT knitting crew, along with a little help from Family members have been knitting and pom pomming with a vengeance. With the deadline now upon us we laid down our needles and had a count up before handing our little hats in to the Devon Office on Friday 21st July.
We're pleased to say we reached a grand total of 1380! Make sure you look out for our hats on bottles of smoothies in a Sainsbury’s near you this November! There’s quite a few purple and green ones!
